Austin-based Benchmark Development specializes in residential, commercial and mixed-use real estate projects. Benchmark is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Grupo Villar Mir (GVM), a multi-billion dollar family-owned company headquartered in Madrid, Spain. Recent GVM projects include Mayakoba, a collection of the world’s finest luxury resorts situated on the southeastern shore of the Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, and Torre Espacio, a PEI Freed Cobb & Partners designed skyscraper located in Madrid, Spain.

Current projects include The Austonian, a high-rise luxury residence at 2nd and Congress in Austin, Texas; Plum Creek, an award-winning community just 15 minutes from downtown Austin; and several urban infill projects including Chestnut Commons (also an award winner), Edgewick and Gabardine. Many of Benchmark’s projects follow the principles of New Urbanism, a design and development philosophy incorporating the community-oriented principles of traditional town and city planning.
